Director Technical Support

GENERAL SUMMARY
Directs, implements, coordinates through second level or first level managers the operational activities for a major function, geographic region, product line or technical discipline or multiple related functions, products, geographic locations or technical disciplines. Assists with the development of strategy and operational policies, processes and programs for assigned area and requires in-depth functional, operational expertise and thorough company knowledge.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs, implements, coordinates through second level or first level managers the operational activities for a major function, geographic region, product line or technical discipline or multiple related functions, products, geographic locations or technical disciplines. Assists with the development of strategy for assigned area and requires in-depth functional, operational expertise and thorough company knowledge.
Directs employees that perform similar or related tasks in a major function, geographic region, product line or technical discipline or multiple related functions, products, geographic locations or technical disciplines. .
Drives the development, performance standards/metrics, budgets for assigned business area. Works closely with Senior Management to develops effective strategies and programs to improve/enhance EMC ability to provide high quality cost effective support.
Accountable for operational results in terms of customer satisfaction, expenses, budget, performance standards/metrics, services, programs and employees for assigned area. .
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.
SKILLS
Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.
Cross-Functional skill.
Ability to work effectively with senior management.
Leadership Skills.
Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge.
